From its first worship services in the garage of its first pastor, for over fifty years Buckingham has made its home in the heart of Garland, Texas.  Since 1971, we have worked with our diverse community to provide a place of belonging to celebrate life in Christ.  

 

From that pastor’s garage, we slowly grew and created new spaces for new forms of spiritual development, missional outreach, and holy fellowship.  Just as importantly, our outreach ministries within the community grew as well, and today include our food pantry, our prayer shawl ministry, among others.  

 

Youth and children have always been at the center of Buckingham’s heart.  We currently have a weekly Sunday chapel time for our children and offer our youth Christian fellowship and programming, including through partnerships with the youth program of First Sachse. 

 

Our contemporary-style sanctuary was built in 1992 and is known in the area for its combination of intimacy and rich acoustics.  We regularly play host to Garland-area choir performances and other music recitals.  

 

Today, we remain as excited as ever for what divine love and a warm welcome can do to change our corner of the world.  We are a special church where you will always find kindness and connection, you will discover true purpose and belonging, and you can become a part of a faith community that is making a difference in the lives of our neighbors in Garland and beyond.
